We know you have waited so long for the AZSFF announcement. When will the films be screened? WILL the films be screened? Who will win?
No, you don’t get an Oscar if you win, but you do get a cool trophy that we will mail to you, so that’s almost the same. And the big winner will win a $1,000 scholarship which is better than an Academy Award if you are paying for school.
Well, we had some great screenings of the AZSFF at the 2020 Phoenix Film Festival on November 14. The early screening was sold out, and the second screening was pretty full as well (socially distanced full of course).
But we have been in contact with our filmmakers — many of whom were now off to college in other states — who were sad to be missing out on the festivities. So in order for all of our filmmakers to be there for the announcement of the winners, we decided to move the announcement to the official Phoenix Film Festival Awards livestream!
On Monday, November 23 at 5pm, we will be LIVE on Facebook from the Phoenix Film Festival offices announcing the winners of the Phoenix Film Festival, the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival, the Phoenix Film Foundation awards and, of course the winners of the 2020 AZSFF!
This way, no matter where our AZSFF filmmakers are in the world, they will be able to see if they’ve won with all of the other filmmakers!
